Dany Garcia Elected to Pediatrix's Board of Directors

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 5, 2008--Pediatrix Medical Group, Inc., (NYSE:PDX) today announced that its Board of Directors has elected Dany Garcia, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Miami-based investment advisory firm JDM Partners LLC, to a newly created seat.

Ms. Garcia, 39, is a prominent South Florida entrepreneur and philanthropist. She founded JDM Partners in 2002, which provides investment counsel to high net worth individuals, families and corporations through traditional investment advisory services as well as alternative opportunities including equity, real estate and entertainment industry investments.

She also serves as Chairman for White Buffalo Productions and is Executive Producer on such projects as the recently released documentary Theater of War, starring Meryl Streep and Kevin Kline.

Ms. Garcia is also founder and president of The Beacon Experience, a Foundation for Success, which provides educational and social tutoring opportunities for at-risk children. In addition, Ms. Garcia is co-founder and vice president of The Rock Foundation, a children's charity, and is a member of the national board of the "I Have a Dream" Foundation.

Ms. Garcia is a member of the University of Miami Board of Trustees, and a Director of the Florida International University Foundation Board.
